Anyone that has ever touched a Rolleiflex will agree with us: what extraordinary craftsmanship, and with such a fabulous design!
Rollei’s appeal is still as strong as it was in the heyday of this legendary camera brand. We therefore regularly receive requests from collectors for the Rolleiflex, Rolleicord, Rollei 35, not to mention the Rollei 6×6 reflex cameras. And don’t think that all that beautiful stuff always disappears immediately in the closet; there are also users of analogue Rollei equipment!
My father (once a first-class Rollei collector himself) and I have always wondered how it is possible that such a beautiful brand with so many fans finally ‘went over’. It went so well right? They were so popular, weren’t they? And those things, they were so terribly beautiful..?
We have now received an answer to that question. At least, as far as we’re concerned, it’s a good hint at the truth. Because one day, my father came into possession of the equipment of an official Rollei repairman. Loaded a few yellowed boxes full of plastic bags into the back of the car and curiously unpacked them at home. In all those little plastic bags there were hundreds of different screws, cogs, pallets, rollers, discs, springs, pieces of leather and many more parts that we couldn’t identify.
Alles was weliswaar keurig genummerd, maar het zweet breekt je uit als je het ziet. Het lijkt erop dat bij ieder cameratype werkelijk elk afzonderlijk onderdeel opnieuw is uitgevonden door de makers van ons geliefde merk. Ze hebben geen enkel schroefje dubbel gebruikt; ze zijn allemaal nét even anders, qua vorm, lengte, kleur, diameter en schroefdraad. En dan hebben we het alleen nog maar over de schroefjes. Laat staan dat je op zoek bent naar een stukje leren camerabekleding in een bepaalde vorm… Of naar een palletje voor het filmtransport… Of lamellen voor je sluiter… en ga zo maar door.
It straight up gave us nightmares! Did we really want to put all of these items online? All of the spare parts photographed and described, a hell of a job. Honestly, there were moments that we thought about throwing the whole lot in the dumpster. But, we couldn’t do it. After all, it was Rollei! And what if someone needed that one screw!
To make a long story short: we finally managed to sort them out. Now we can proudly say that we are the largest supplier of Rollei repair and spare parts! All of our Rollei parts are 100% original and most of them unused. We kindly invite all Rollei repairers and fanciers to check out our big stock.
